Purpose of an Audience for Research on Palestine and the Palestinians


Nadia Hijab co-founded Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network, a global think tank, in 2009 to put a Palestinian policy voice on the national and international map. She has served as its Executive Director since 2015. She is a frequent public speaker and media commentator and a senior fellow at the Institute for Palestine Studies. 

Hijab has held senior positions at the United Nations, among other assignments. As a tireless human rights advocate, she has co-founded or participated in several campaigns for Palestinian human rights in the United States. Her first book, Womanpower: The Arab debate on women at work was published by Cambridge University Press and she co-authored Citizens Apart: A Portrait of the Palestinians in Israel (I.B. Tauris).
