Member, Israeli Knesset, Tajamoe/Joint Arab List

Haneen Zoabi is a political and a feminist activist, who holds an MA degree in Mass Communication from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She has been a member of the national democratic assembly (NDA) since its establishment, and member of its political leadership since 2000.

She was elected to the Knesset as a representative of the National Democratic Assembly (NDA, Tajamoa)  in 2009, and again in 2013 and 2015, and was the first MK Arab woman to represent an Arab party. Ms. Zoabi participated in the "Freedom for Gaza” Flotilla in 2010, and since then has been declared "the most hated woman" in the country by the Israelis. She has been politically persecuted ever since.

She believes it to be her duty to represent her people and their human dignity, as manifested in her struggle for justice and equality.
