HILAL

Jamil Hilal:   M.  Phil  in  political  sociology  from  the  University  of  Durham.  Served as lecturer at the University of Durham, University College London, and University of Dar al-Salam University, and as senior associate fellow at Oxford University.  He was a senior associate fellow at Berzeit University (Institute of Law, Institute of Development Studies, Institute of Women Studies), and a visiting scholar at Carnegie Institute (2008). He is a senior associate fellow at Muwatin (The Palestinian Institute for the Study of Democracy), at the Institute of Palestine Studies and at the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS). He has published several books and numerous articles on poverty, democratization, civil society, social capital, Palestinian political parties and elites, socio-economic structure in West Bank and Gaza Strip, political polarization in Arab societies, and Palestinian youth movements.
